Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEC) Baragolai celebrated Srimanta Sankardev Tithi with great devotion and enthusiasm on 25th August 2025 in the school premises. The programme was conducted from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The event commenced with Manglacharan, creating a spiritual atmosphere. This was followed by the felicitation of the guest by the Principal. The students then presented a melodious Borgeet that filled the hall with devotional fervour. The invited guest, Mrs. Mina Kumari Nath, Retired Headmistress delivered an enlightening speech on the significance of the day, highlighting the contributions of Srimanta Sankardev in shaping the socio-cultural and spiritual life of Assam. Her speech inspired both students and teachers alike. After this, students showcased their talent through a graceful performance of Sattriya Dance, one of the classical dance forms introduced by Sankardev. After a short refreshment break, the students and teachers participated in Deeha Naam, which lasted for about 45 minutes. The rhythmic naam-kirtan created a devotional ambience among the gathering. The programme concluded with Shantipath. After the event, prasad was distributed to all. The entire programme was a befitting tribute to the great saint-reformer Srimanta Sankardev, and it left a lasting impression of devotion, discipline, and cultural pride among the students and teachers.
