78th Independence Day was
celebrated in the school on 15th August, 2024 with great enthusiasm and
patriotic fervour. The entire school community-students, teachers, parents, guardians
and staff came together to celebrate the day. The programme started at 7.30
a.m. The Principal of the school Sri Digesh Chandra Nath hoisted the National Flag which was followed by the National
Anthem. After flag hoisting
Principal addressed the gathering,
emphasizing the importance of upholding the values of freedom, unity, and
responsibility as students and future citizens of India. The speech was both
inspiring and motivational, encouraging students to contribute positively to
the nation’s growth. Following this, a series of cultural programs were
presented by the students. The event began with a Patriotic Song sung by a group of
students, which evoked strong emotions among the audience. Next there was a speech by Km Kongkona Bora, a student of
Class XI (Humanities). She spoke about the significance of Independence Day
and the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. A short play, depicting the influence of British on the education system of
India and the struggle for independence was performed, leaving a deep impact on
everyone present. Then 3 students of the
school, Km Daisy Gogoi (Class- IX), Km Delisha Chetia (Class -IX) and Km
Dikshita Saikia (Class -VIII) recited a
poem 'Swadesh Prem' dedicating the nation, expressing their love and pride
for India. The programme concluded with
a vote of thanks, followed by the
distribution of sweets. Around 800 people including students, teachers,
parents, guardians and well-wishers attended the programme. Overall, the programme was a
resounding success, instilling a deep sense of patriotism and unity among all
participants.
The NCC group of the school comprising 23 students and a dance
group of 37 students went to the Central Field, Margherita to take part in Independence
Day celebration.
