CELEBRATIONS

Independence Day (15th Aug 2010):

After hoisting the tricolour Principal addressed the gathering. Sri Laldeo Yadav sang a patriotic song. Other programmes constituted a speech by a student, two patriotic songs by two separate groups of students and teachers.A group of students earned accolades and a ‘certificate for best group presentation’ for their fabulous performance of Mallkhamb during the Independence Day Programme in the Central Field in Margherita on the occasion.

Raksha Bandhan (24th Aug 2010):

The programme started with a theme song by a student. Sri Surendra Misra delivered a speech on the significance of the day. After this rakhis were tied around the wrist of the brothers present. The students and the teachers in different groups visited nearby places for rakhi tying.At Bisagaon Anandalaya Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in a way befitting the occasion. Sri Ritwik Chakravarty and Sri Uttam Narnaware attended the programme. 200 rakhis were tied among the villagers of Bisagaon. Sri Narnaware spoke on the significance of the day.

Janmasthami (1st Sept 2010):

Puja was performed at 8 in the morning. Smt. Mala Roy Talukdar presented a Meera Bhajan. Sri Laldeo Yadav delivered a speech on the significance of Janmastami. A group of K.G. students performed a dance. Another group of students of classes I and II also presented a Radha-Krishna dance. After this a house wise solo dance competition was conducted. Janmastami was celebrated in 1 No. Makum Pathar Anandalaya. ‘Matka Tor’ and ‘Dharti Patal Akash’ competitions were conducted among the students of the Anandalaya. Prizes were distributed after the competition. Sri Santosh Dubey and Sri Uttam Narnaware attended the programme. Sri Santosh spoke on the significance of the day.

Teachers’ Day (5th Sept 2010):

The day was celebrated with a day long programme. Classes were taken by the mock-teachers in the morning hours. In the common programme Sri Ranjit Purkayastha gave a speech on the glories of the day. Thereupon many groups of students presented songs, dances and a drama in a cultural show dedicated to the teachers.

Srimanta Sankardev Tithi (10th Sept 2010):

The elaborate programme constituted a Borgeet by a student, a speech by Sri Pranab Kr. Saikia on the significance of the occasion, a Dihanam by a group of students, another Dihanam by a group of local devotees and a house wise drawing and painting competition. Prasad was distributed at the end of the programme.

Universal Brotherhood Day (Celebrated on 13th Sept 2010):

The invited guests Smt. Shivani Baruah, a radio artiste and Smt. Bobita Choudhury, a classical music teacher, were felicitated. Principal delivered the welcome address. Kr. Divya Tanu Raj, a student class VII, delivered the Chicago Address in Swamiji’s attire. A group of students presented a group song. After this an inter-school patriotic song competition was held. Though many schools could not participate because of their ongoing examination, a number of schools had been contacted and the written message of brotherhood was passed on to them so that they could read it out to their students in the morning assembly. The winners were Sankar Dev Vidyapeeth Ledo (1st), Carmel School Digboi (2nd) and St. Mary’s School Margherta (3rd).
